After working 24/7 for the last year, we decided we really needed to spend some good vacation time together. I've always wanted to go to Prague, so off we went!
Prague, Czech Republic - Our Lady of Tyn Church in Old Town Square.
Prague, Czech Republic - Church of St. James is known as the most beautiful Baroque church in Bohemia (a region in the Czech Republic). The 1702 Baroque organ is beautiful.
Prague, Czech Republic - Old Town Hall Tower with the Astronomical clock at Old Town Square. The clock shows the movement of the sun and moon through the 12 signs of the zodiac. The mechanical figures perform in the two windows shown and the skeleton(represents death) rings a bell. The clock with the sun in Aries and the blue represents daylight hours. The lower part of the clock is a calendar.
We watched the “Best of Mozart Opera” at the Estates Theatre. The interior is all blue and gold.
Prague, Czech Republic - Prague Castle and Hradcany Area - St. Vitus's Cathedral at the Prague Castle. The 1st stain glass window shown above is by Alfonzo Mucha. It is very different from the other windows in the cathedral.

Prague, Czech Republic - Prague Castle and Hradcany Area - The Belvedere in the Prague Castle's Royal Garden. This is Emperor Ferdinand I's summer palace, he built for his wife. It is the finest Italian Renaissance Palace North of the Alps.

View of Prague Castle from Petrin Tower. You can see St. Vitus Cathedral in the center. You can barely see the communist era apartment buildings in the distance that go on and on in both directions as far as the eye could see.

National Marionette Theater. We watched the marionettes perform the Don Giovanni Opera. The marionettes were about 3' tall. The puppeteers wear wrist to elbow sleeves made out of the same fabric as the stage curtains, so they blend in better. The video gets a little clearer as it continues.
You can see the hops growing in the country side at the end of the video. Sorry it is a little blurry at the begining and is a little long.
Karlovy Vary (aka Carlsbad), Czech Republic - Moser Factory - is 2 1/2 hours North of Prague. Moser produces the world famous Bohemian crystal.
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic - Grand Hotel Pupp, a popular spa hotel for European Royalties throughout history to stay for weeks at a time while partaking in the medicinal mineral waters from the springs per doctors orders. We ate at the Cafe Pupp for lunch on the street level. This hotel's casino has been in James Bond's Casino Real and the hotel has been in The Last Holiday with Queen Latifa.
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic - One of the many mineral hot springs. The idea was to drink the hot mineral water to improve all of your ailments and improve your health. You were to drink from each spring and there were about 14. You can purchase an inexpensive souvenir beaker with a spout. The spout cools the water some and prevents the mineral water from staining your teeth. The water tastes very metallic. The mineral water would basically give you a colon cleanse, so we just sipped some of it just to say we did it.
Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic - 3 1/2 hours south of Prague on the bus. It is a little hamlet town. You can see the Cesky Krumlov Castle and tower.

Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic - Cesky Krumlov castle has 2 live brown bears in the mote on either side of the castle. You can only see one above.
Prague, Czech Republic - Jewish Quarter - Jewish Cemetery - For 300 years this was the only cemetery for the Jewish people. Because of the lack of space, people were buried on top of each other. There are 12 layers of people here. Today you can see over 12,000 gravestones, but an estimated 100,000 Jewish people are buried here.

Prague looks so beautiful! Hopefully Thad and I can go before they change over to the Euro... Looks like you guys had such a wonderful time... and I hope relaxing - you both needed it, for sure.
